Joe C. Collier, President
Mainsail Lodging & Development

A native Floridian born in Miami. Joe received his Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management and Marketing from Florida State University and completed his internship in the European Hotel program in Leysin Switzerland. He spent 15 years with Marriott International in sales, marketing and development before forming Mainsail in 1998.

Julianne V. Corlew, Vice President & Managing Partner
Mainsail Lodging & Development

Julianne joined us from Marriott after 16 years of operations and finance. She began her career at the Albuquerque Marriott, then continued on through San Francisco, Denver and Tampa, where she was the cluster Controller for multiple Marriott properties. Her international experience as Financial Director took her to Mexico and to South America where she opened the JW Marriott Hotel Quito before returning to the United States and Mainsail.

Jana M. Collier, Managing Partner
ExecuStay

Jana is Franchise Owner and Managing Partner for the Mainsail Housing companies. Mainsail Housing is the franchisee for ExecuStay-Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and areas in Alabama. Now operating under the Oakwood ExecuStay brand, Mainsail procures, furnishes and manages luxury apartments to corporate, government and leisure clients. Jana oversees all aspects of this division of Mainsail.

Jana graduated from The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University and worked in the hospitality and property management industries before landing in corporate housing 17 years ago.

Maura Palmer, Corporate Controller

Maura started her Accounting career in New Jersey in 1980 after graduating from Ramapo State College with a BS in Accounting. She then received her MBA with a concentration in Finance from Montclair State University and subsequently moved to Florida in 1989. Her Accounting experience includes working at New Jersey Transit Rail Operations, two medium sized manufacturing firms in addition to four travel and entertainment companies.

Maura joined Mainsail in December of 1998 as the Controller responsible for 3 companies with about 25 employees. Since then, Mainsail has grown to more than 180 employees in the US with another 100 at our Caribbean location and over 30 companies. She is responsible for the oversight of all Accounting functions for these entities.

Dale O’Neil, Corporate Director of Procurement

Dale’s career in the Hospitality industry has included stays in California, Missouri, South Carolina and now Florida. Early in his career he spent time in F&B, Front Desk and Accounting. Prior to joining Mainsail he had the opportunity of leading the Procurement efforts at Kiawah Island, Saddlebrook Resort and PODS.

Norwood Smith, Vice President Sales & Marketing

Joining Mainsail in January 2012, Norwood oversees the sales and marketing functions for the Mainsail Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Tampa, the Beach Inn on Anna Maria Island and the Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina in the British Virgin Islands. Smith is also responsible for directing the sales team for the specific Mainsail franchises with ExecuStay’s corporate housing business in major markets in the Southeast, including Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina and areas of Alabama.

With a hospitality sales career spanning over 25 years, Norwood was most recently the Vice President of Sales for Tampa Bay & Company, the destination’s convention and visitors bureau. Prior to that, Norwood held various sales positions with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, JP Hotels and Ritz-Carlton.

Janice L. Chase, Executive Assistant
Mainsail Lodging & Development

After relocating to Florida from her home state of Michigan, Janice joined Mainsail in 1999 to manage the administrative tasks for the Mainsail Suites Hotel. Since then she has assisted in several areas of hotel operations including front desk and housekeeping, but today Janice oversees the day to day administrative functions of Mainsail Lodging and Development at the Corporate Headquarters.
